How it works

Five steps. You do none of them.

From your first quote to storage in the new year, here's exactly what we handle — and where you come in. (Spoiler: you don't.)

  1. 1

Get your quote & see the design

Tell us your address, your colours, and what you'd like lit — roofline, trees, wreaths, the works. We build a realistic mockup of your own home so you can see the look before you decide, and you get a firm, all-in price. No obligation, nothing to buy.

    See it before you commit
  2. 2

    We install your lights

Commercial-grade LEDs, custom-cut to your exact rooflines and features. We own them, we bring them, and we handle every ladder — fully insured. They stay dark until you're ready to flip the switch.

    You own nothing
  3. 3

We keep them perfect all season

Bulb out? Strand down in a storm? We're back to fix it free, within 48 hours — every time, all season. You never touch a ladder.

    No-Lights-Out Guarantee
  4. 4

    We take it all down

When the season's over, we come back and remove everything — as soon as the snow and ice make it safe to work. We watch the weather so you never have to, and there's no frozen weekend on your calendar.

    We handle the timing
  5. 5

We store it — and next year is easier

Your lights live at our shop, already cut to fit your home. Next season is a single text — keep the look or change the colours, free — and returning clients get 20% off when they book in October. The nicest tradition you'll never have to work for.

    The part that compounds

Why Nord

More than a string of lights

Equipment built for our winters

Extra-insulated wiring and shatterproof, warm-filament LEDs — the classic incandescent glow with none of the blue-ish LED look, rated for Simcoe County ice and wind.

A design cut to your home

Measured and custom-cut to your exact rooflines and trees, never off a generic spool. Want a different look next year? Change colours and patterns at no extra cost.

The No-Lights-Out Guarantee

If anything goes dark or comes loose, we're back within 48 hours to fix it free, all season. Not fine print — it's the reason people stop doing this themselves.

A local crew you'll see again

Blair, Liz & team — $2 million in liability insurance, WSIB covered, and the same faces on your roof year after year. Not a franchise dispatching strangers to your door.

Giving back

Lights that brighten more than your home

5% of every holiday lighting sale goes to The Lighthouse in Orillia, providing shelter, support, and essential services to neighbours in need.

Every install helps a neighbour in need — that’s the “be the kind of neighbour you’d want” part of our Nord Star.

FAQ

Frequently asked lighting questions

How much does holiday lighting cost?

Most homes land between $800 and $3,500 depending on the size of the display, with the average around $1,500. We price at $8 per linear foot, and the average home uses about 170 feet for a complete setup. It’s all-inclusive: design, commercial-grade lights, install, in-season maintenance, takedown, and storage.

Can I see what it’ll look like before I commit?

Yes. As part of your free design, we build a realistic mockup of your own home with the lights on, so you can see the exact look — colours, coverage, where each run goes — and adjust it until it’s what you want. You approve the design and the price before anything is installed.

What colours and patterns can I choose?

Warm white, cool white, blue, red, green, and yellow — in single-colour, candy-cane, or multi-colour patterns. And you can change colours and patterns next year at no extra cost.

What happens if a bulb goes out or a strand comes down?

We fix it, free, within 48 hours. Free maintenance calls are part of every install — that’s our worry-free warranty.

Do I get a discount next year?

Yes — returning clients get a 20% Early Elf discount for October installations. Install dates fill fastest between Halloween and the first snowfall, so October bookings get the best dates and the best price.

Do I have to buy the lights?

No — and that's the point. Your quote includes commercial-grade LED lights custom-cut to your home, plus storage in the off-season. No tangled bins in your garage, and no ladder for you, ever.

Can you install my own lights?

We install only our commercial-grade, custom-cut lights. Store-bought strands aren't built for wind and ice, and we can't guarantee (or efficiently repair) product we didn't supply — and the No-Lights-Out Guarantee is most of what you're paying for.

When do the lights go up?

Installs run October through early December, and going up early doesn't mean lit early — your display stays dark until you're ready to flip the switch. Prime dates fill by early November, so booking in fall gets you the date you want.
